John Calloway
Founder & Owner
John Calloway has spent over 30 years transforming outdoor spaces across Birmingham. What started as a small operation, just him and a mower, grew into American Lawn Company, now one of the city’s biggest names in landscaping.
In 2008, John started Outdoor Living Areas to focus on what he really loves: creating outdoor spaces that feel like home. Whether it’s a custom patio, a poolside hangout, or a quiet spot to unwind, he brings a hands-on approach and a passion for outdoor living to every project.
When he’s not on-site or checking in with clients, you’ll probably find John casting a line, grilling out, or relaxing by his pool, proof that he lives the lifestyle he helps build for others.

Drainage & Landscape Contractor Irrigation Specialist
Hal Shelton brings years of hands-on experience in drainage, irrigation, and landscape work to every project he touches.
